bift together flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cream together shortening and % cup brown sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in molasses and vanilla. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Blend flour mixture into creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Beat well after each addition. Spread in well-greased 9 x 13 x 2inch baking pan. Sprinkle ' peanuts over batter. Bake in preheated 350° oven 30 to 35 minutes, or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Remove pan to wire rack and cool while preparing glaze. Mix together Vs cup brown sugar, cream and butter or margarine in saucepan. Heat to boiling and boil 3 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Spread over warm cookies. Cut into 3 x 1 Vi-inch bars. Remove cookies to wire rack and cool.
