In the past years, member schools were classified according to size and designated by Group 1, Group 11 or Group 111 from largest to smallest. Rappahannock was classified Group 111, the smallest schools, but because there are no other schools of that size near by, we have been grouped in a district mainly Group 11 schools.
This year, VHSL member schools are grouped by Class A, AA, or AAA depending on number of students. A Class A school has between 0 and 600 students. Class AA schools may have between 601 and 12001 students and Class AAA schools■ may have any over 1201 students
