Dear Sir:
Many public spirited citizens of Rappahannock County have condemned the proposal to erect a high-power electric utility line across our County. To allow the despoiling of natural resources in this manner is unconscionable. It is analagous to pollution of our streams by sewage or of the air we breathe by commercial smoke and gas. It is incredible that in an era when all thinking citizens are profoundly concerned about the pollution of the environment that such a proposal could be made by a public utility company, which supposedly is concerned with the welfare of the community. It is self-apparent that the economic interests of the company have motivated this proposal. Such shortsighted and selfish interests must be combatted by al progressive citizens with the greatest possible vigor.
