Norman R. Grant
Norman R. Grant, 71, of Washington, D. C. died November 11, 1970 at Sibley Memorial Hospital. He was bom in Boston and came to the metropolitan area as a child. He served with the U.S. Navy in World War 1 and was employed with the Post Office Department for 39 years, retiring in 1958. Mr. Grant spent much of his early life in Rappahannock County staying summers at the home of Mrs. Ada Huff near Sperryville.
He was a member of the American Legion and of Harmony Lodge 17 and the Almas Temple Shrine. He was director of the division of Postmasters and Post Office representative on the U.S. Board of geographic names.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Neva M. Grant; two sons, Lt. Col. Richard A. Grant USAF (Ret.) and Maj. Donald Lee Grant USMC; a daughter, Mrs. Marian G. White, all of Washington, D.C.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Arthur F. Grant and a sister, Mrs. Harriet Khounountz.
A funeral service was held on Saturday from the Joseph Grawler’s Sons Funeral Home and interment was in National Memorial Park.

Funeral services for John Robert Jenkins of Woodville were held Sunday, November 15 at Geest Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Kinsey Reed. Burial followed in Sperryville Cemetery.
Mr. Jenkins, 51, died November 12, 1970. He was a native of Rappahannock County, son of Jesse James Jenkins of Centreville and the late Daisy Margaret
