While we are on the subject of crosbreeding, we have a 4vell prepared objective six page 1970 publication on “Crossbreeding Beef Cattle.” This publication was prepared by Curtis Mast, Ike Eller and Dr. Bob Carter and is based on five years of crossbreeding experiments in Virginia. A phone call to our office 675-3619 will have this publication in the mail to you.

For what it’s worth, my opinion of crossbreeding, is that a carefully planned and executed crossbreeding program, such as those presently being carried out by H. L. Manwaring and Randall Updike offer many advantages. Looking at the other side of the coin, indiscriminate, random mixing of cattle is a giant step backward, offers nothing and will be harmful to the future of Rappahannock County’s cattle business.
