Truck- Car Crash

In Amissville

A car and truck were involved in a collision in Amissville on Route 211 yesterday morning. According to Trooper P. P. Dicks, Charlie Compton of Amissville operating a 71 Ford was attempting to turn around andi was struck by a 67 Ford truck. The truck, operated by Eric Cordell Conrad of Toledo, Ohio, was traveling west on the highway.

No personal ihjury resulted from the crash and damage to the truck was estimated at $350. Damage to the auto was set at $800 and Mr. Compton was charged with failing to yield the right of way.

At 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning, three miles east of Sperryville on Route 622 two vehicles collided on a hill. Trooper J. B. Willis investigated the collision and reported the operators as Harrison Albert Gatewood of Washington, Va. in a 68 Chevrolet and Robert Glascoe Douglas of Luray in a 69 Pontiac. Damage to the cars was set at $1200 to the Chevrolet and $500 to the Pontiac. No charges were made.
