God. Does God have hands' We used to sing a song about God in which we used these words “Your hands are the only hands God has.” We have created an anthropomorphic God who has the attributes of our mortal selves. But, the Bible teaches us to pray to ‘our Father’, that gives Him gender. It also teaches that the Christ now sits on the ‘right hand side of the Father.’ So, let us place our hand in the hand of God. By so doing we will be able to face the unknown, the darkness, or anything else with confidence. It WILL ‘be safer than a known way.’
With the passing of the old year we look back and ask ourselves, “what have we gained, what have we lost?” Some of us have lost loved onesv Have we really lost them, or does the ‘rose still grow beyond the wall’? There is a great amount of comfort to me to think of our inner selves as being perennial flowers that grow in God’s Garden of Love. Maybe He transplants the more favored ones to a better spot in that garden, where He nourishes them and loves them, until they reach such a state of perfection, He transplants them into His ultimate garden where they will be ‘in eternal bloom.’
We do not know the answers yet. We do know how to pray the prayer that Jesus taught, ‘on earth, as in Heaven,
THY WILL BE DONE.
