James Benjamin Jenkins, 76, of Brandy Station died December 30, 1970 at the Culpeper Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was a retired farmer and the son of the late Ashby Lewis Jenkins and the late Sarah Frances Woodard Jenkins, formerly of Rappahannock County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucy Ann Kennedy Jenkins; seven daughters, Mrs. Kiethen E. Smoot, Mrs. Leon B. Shenk, Mrs. Frank D. Short and Mrs. Richard C. Early, all of Culpeper, Mrs. Milton E. Jerrell of McGuire Air Force Base, N. J., Mrs. Joseph C. Elkins of Alexandria, and Miss Virginia Frances Jenkins oi Staunton; a son, Benjamin R, Jenkins of Culpeper; a sister, Mrs. Richard Dodson of Culpeper; twc brothers, Willis A. Jenkins ol Culpeper and V. M. Jenkins ol Herndon; 23 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

funeral service w$ conducted Saturday, January 2 a 2 p.m. at the Geest Funera Chapel conducted by the Rev John S. Farrar and the Rev Gordon George. Burial was ii Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Lena N. Cook

A graveside funeral service was held Thursday, December 31, for Mrs. Lena Noakes Cook, 75, at the Jvy Hill Cemetery in Alexandria at 3 p.m. conducted by the Rev. John S. Farrar of Culpeper. Mrs. Cook, the widow of Ernest H. Cook of Rappahannock County died in Culpeper Hospital on December 29,1970. She was a retired assistant buyer at Lansburghs Department Store in Washington, D.C. She was the daughter of the late John Thomas Noakes and Margaret W. Deal Noakes of Rappahannock County. Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. R. S. Taylor and Mrs. K. S. Brown of Culpeper, Mrs. W. R. Wit&on of Charlottesville and Mrs. Dalton Anderson of Fredericksburg. She is also survived by two brothers, Edward Noakes of Arlington and Carroll Noakes of Culpeper.
