Amissville Fire Company responded to a brush fire April 14 at the 0. L. Brown property at Laurel Mills. On the 15th of April the unit answered a call to a fire on Route 211 east of Amissville but it was controlled burning. Sunday Amissville answered an alarm to a wreck on Route 645 near Crest Hill (in Fauquier County) where a vehicle was burning. They responded to the same location later the same day at the request of an officer to check the area as a safety precaution. It was reported last week that Sharon Hulvey was taken from the home of Lulu Atkins to Warren Memorial Hospital by Rappahannock Rescue Squad. This was erroneously reported to this paper by a rescue squad official and is being corrected at the request of Lulu Atkins. Sharon Hulvey was taken from the home of Bertha Jackson to Warren Memorial. Flint Hill Rescue Squad on April 18 took Mrs. Mary Beumer from the home of Mrs. Guy Foster to Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal. On the same day Mrs. Maude Dodson was taken from the Elmer Atkins home to Warren Memorial Hospital. On April 19 Mrs. Dodson was transferred to the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.
Rappahannock Rescue Squad and Fire Company and the Flint Hill Fire Company reported to a motorcycle accident and burning causing a field fire, Sunday on the Ben Venue Road.
