The Planning Commission met Tuesday night and attempted to equalize population areas by taking a section of Wakefield and putting it in Jackson and taking a portion of Jackson and adding it to the combined Stonewall District,
Rare Volumes Given
County Library
Lt. General Daniel Noce has given the Rappahannock Library a rare and important set of books, War of the Rebellion, the official U. S. War Department records, authorized by Congress in 1867, to be distributed on a very limited basis including one set to each state. Two hundred volumes are concerned with land actions of the armies; six volumes are on naval action.
This valuable source material will be on display at the Library, May 3, at 8 p.m. when Lt. Gen. Noce will give an interesting and stimulating talk. Subsequently these volumes will be included in the Noce collection, given to the Library several years ago, bearing on the vital subject of the historical development of the tactics of warfare from the era of Genghis Kahn to the present.
This special collection of Gen. Noce’s adds a distinguished element to the Rappahannock Library for use by the community, visiting authors and research students.
General Noce has not only given several hundred valuable books to date, but has established a fund to maintain the collection, and intends to make further additions as valuable books germane to the subject become available to him.
The public is invited to see this rare set of books on display and to hear the rich observations of a vastly experienced man, Rappahannock Library, May 3, 8 p.m. Lt. Gen. Noce’s speech promises to have a special appeal for boys and young men.
