The RCHS baseball team defeated Luray 7-5 Monday afternoon on the local diamond. Ernie Dennis was winning pitcher for the Panthers and Gifford Frye’s home run in the bottom of the seventh provided the winning margin. This brought the Panther’s record to 2 and 2. The end of the story was not repeated by the Panthers when the team faced Elkton Tuesday afternoon on the local field. The Elks were victors with an 18-3 score. Maury Nichols was the losing RCHS pitcher.
