The Rappahannock County League for Environmental Protection has prompted the sale of bumper strips conveying a message to Save Rappahannock from the establishment of a high voltage transmission power line through the county. The bumper sticker was designed by commercial artist and Rappahannock land owner John J. Guthrie and contains a drawing of two steel towers with lines and the words “Save Rappahannock.’’ The message is clear and simple on the green and white sticker. (See advertisement on page 2) The League has solicited the aid of Rappahannock Boy and Girl Scout Troops to sell the stickers through out the county from now until May 16. The strips sell for f 1 and half of the sale price will be retained by the scout organizations.
Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection is a non-partisan organization dedicated to any membershipapproved effort relating to the conservation of Rappahannock County’s natural resources. Its present efforts are directed toward an effective defense for the county from the transmission line.
