Luncheon guests Saturday preceding the Gold Cup Races at Warrenton of Mr. and Mrs. Newbill Miller were Dr. and Mrs. Phil Wine of Front Royal, Mrs. Ingrid Strawser of Amissville and Philip Irwin of Flint Hill. Following thoraces Mr. and Mrs. Miller were guests of Dr. and Mrs. J. 0. Hodgkins in Warrenton.

Mrs. A. M. Verner has returned to her home after an extended hospitalization in the Culpeper Memorial Hospital. Mrs. William M. Carrigan sustained a broken ankle at her home Avon Hall on Saturday and was taken to the Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton. Mrs. Charles B. Palmer of Ashland spent the week-end at her home Scuffle Hill and visited her mother Mrs. J. Elmore at the Lynn Care Center, Front Royal. Ensign Page Moffett of the USS MacDonough stationed at the Naval Base, Charleston, S. C. spent Thursday and Friday with his parents Judge and Mrs. W. F. Moffett. Ensign Moffett and the crew of the MacDonough recently returned from a three month’s Caribbean cruise to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Puerto Rico, Jamaica and the Virgin Islands. Dr. James B. Bryant of Richmond was the Sunday dinner guest of lviiss Mary Miller Wood. Mrs. J. Lester Burke remains as a patient in the Fauquier Hospital.
