Overturns Thursday

A tractor-trailer overturned on its side Thursday morning on Route 211, three miles west of Sperryville. The incident occurred at 6 a.m. when Bilivard Joe Sattiewhite of Corpus Christi, Texas operating a 1971 White tractor attempted to back the trailer into a parking pull-off. He backed off the edge of the road on a slope and the rig flopped over on its side. The tractor was owned by A.B.C. Truck Rental & Leasing Co. of San Antonio and the trailer was loaded with melons and fresh corn. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5000 and cargo loss was set at $2000. Two vehicles collided on Route 211 Sunday evening two miles east of Ben Venue on the dual lane highway. Robert Cary Woodson of Marshall in a 1965 Plymouth struck the left side of a 64 Chevrolet operated by Lawrence Starks of Washington, Va. The Starks vehicle pulled into the highway from a crossover in front of the Woodson car. Starks was charged with reckless driving. Damage was estimated at $200 to Starks and at $100 to Woodson.
