The Virginia State Hairdressers & Cosmotologist Association held a workshop and clinic Sunday, May 2 in Culpeper. Guest artists included Mrs. Lynn Boone, who presented a program on make-up for all hours and Mrs. Susan Williams whose topic was “Free and Easy” which showed new trends in hairstyling. Both are members of the Virginia Hair Fashion Committee.
Mrs. Sylvia Brenton showed new styles using the air blowers and curling iron while Mrs. Jean Royston demonstrated a version of the new trend. Both are members of the Northern Virginia Hairdressers. Hairdressers of Culpeper formed an association, Affiliate No. 29 and the following officers were elected: Mrs. Linda Dodson, president; Mrs. Ann Laster, vice president; Mrs. Addie Boxley, recording secretary; Mrs. Audra Shubert, secretary-treasurer and Miss Wanda Waldrop, historian. Officers were installed by Mrs. Ednor Burgess and Mrs. Vada Hall, president and membership chairman, respectively of the state organization.
