Commen’tion Medal
Technical Sergeant Charles E. Smith son of Mrs. Milton Hitt of Amissville, has received his second award of the U. S. Air Force Commendation Medal at Nellis AFB, Nev. He was cited for his outstanding performance of duty while stationed at Andersen AFB in Guam. Sgt. Smith is presently stationed at Nellis AFB with a unit of the Tactical Air Command which provides combat units for air support of U. S. ground forces. He previously served at Camp Oji, Japan.
He is a I960 graduate of Rappahannock County High School and attended the University of Mississippi and the University of Guam.
His wife, LaVera, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Todd of Kinston, N. C.
