Douglas Smoot was appointed to the post of assistant general manager of sales. Smoot was employed by the coop in 1964, and has beeen serving as director of feed services. Smoot is an alumnus of VPI, with dairy science as his major. He is also a member of the Virginia State Department of Agriculture Feed Control Board. He has two children and resides in Brandy Station, Virginia.
Lyle M. Updike was assigned the position of director of product procurement and field services. Updike joined the coop in 1969. He is a native of Rappahannock County and lives in Fairview Acres, near Culpeper, with his wife Joan and two children. He also graduated from VPI, and was formerly employed by Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company.
