Flint Hill Parade
Flint Hill Fire Department's annual Carnival starts next week on August 4, and runs through August 7. A brilliant iireworks display will be fe/tured on Wednesday night. c— The Big Parade is scheduled for Thursday, August 5, beginning at 7 p.m. The Parade this year promises to be more exciting than ever. It will be led by Grand Marshal, Suzanne Pluskoski, “Miss Apple Queen U S A” The new “Miss Virginia’’, Linda Moyer of Norfolk will be appearing as a Special Guest. Another feature attraction will be the music furnished by more than a dozen flashy marching bands from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. It will contain more units and will feature more outstanding entries than in any previous year. Plate suppers will be served Thursday night by the Ladies Auxiliary.
Friday night a 700-pound purebred registered Angus Heifer, which was donated by Admiral Josef Gardiner of High Meadow Farm, will be given away in addition to a second prize which was donated by Walls Jewelers, Front Royal.
The Carnival will come to a climax on Saturday night with the awarding of a Playground Gym Set which was donated by Commonwealth Corp. and the Grand Prize a 1971 Plymouth, and four other cash prizes.
