James Madison Gilliam, 66, of Front Royal died in Warren Memorial Hospital July 22, 1971. He was a civic leader and businessman in Front Royal, the proprietor of Royal Lumber Co.
Mr. Gilliam was a Mason, a member of Front Royal Presbyterian Church, a member of the Elks and Lions Club and Recreational Association. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Lee Elliott Gilliam; two sons, Ronald Stone Gilliam of Front Royal and James William Gilliam of Fairfax; and six grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, Luther R. of Portsmouth, Howard F., Decatur, Ga., Robert L., South Boston and| James E. of Phenix, Va.; and two
