A FINAL ANECDOTE from the cleanup campaign: A crew was working in the Rock Springs area, gathering those ubiquitous beer cans and other flotsam and jetsom of our pre-packaged age, when before their unbelieving eyes, a car-full of (yes!) residents drove by, and dumped a bagful of trash, right over the bridge and into the creek!
The flabbergasted cleanup volunteers got the license number and turned it over to the Sheriff. If he cares as much about Rappahannock as we do, he’ll make sure the law is enforced. □
