The Index of Prices Received by Farmers all over the U.S. decreased seven points (four percent) to 184 percent of the JanuaryDecember 1967 average during the month ended October 15, 1973. Contributing most to the decrease since mid-September were lower prices for cattle, hogs, wheat, broilers, and eggs. Higher prices for milk, rice, oranges, dry beans, and grapefruit were only partially offsetting. The index was 54 points (42 percent) above a year earlier.
