THE REV. Albert Hawley Lucas, 78, a former headmaster of St. Albans School in Washington, died last Saturday at his home near Huntly in Rappahannock County following a long illness. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. John A. Baden, Suffragan Bishop of Virginia, were held Tuesday, November 13, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church in Front Royal.
Dr. Lucas, who served as St. Albans headmaster from 1929 to 1949, was credited with changing the atmosphere of St. Albans, the National Cathedral School for Boys, from a typical English school to a more open and relaxed institution. During his tenure the school doubled its
