AS PART of the national effort to conserve vital fuel resources in the coming winter months, Potomac Edison has issued an appeal to reduce energy use wherever possible, including decorative Christmas lighting.
C.I. Cather, Jr. division manager, said that because of the seriousness of the fuel shortage in many parts of the nation, “it is imperative that we all take appropriate steps to eliminate unnecessary uses of energy in all its forms.”
“The winter season usually results in heavier electrical load than any other time of year, and a contributing factor is Christmas holiday lighting,” Cather said.
Potomac Edison is preparing a special pamphlet for customers offering tips on holiday decorations that do not require lighting, and suggestions on how to reduce lighting requirements.
