I am most grateful for the interest and concern on the part of your fine paper that prompted you to run my article about the proposed Vepco powerline last week, and I am sorry that the copy I sent you was so illegible in places that a tiny but important error appeared in the published piece.
I had written that under Bill 664, local governing bodies would only be permitted to participate in hearings in Richmond, and in filing briefs. The word “only” came out as “not,” so let me make it clear that under the pending measure all local governmental bodies, such as zoning or planning commissions and so on, would indeed be allowed full expression of their views at Richmond hearings.
