f'EEDER cattle and calves at southeastern markets experienced another period of price uneveness during the period ending March 29. General demand was narrow and buyers were somewhat selective throughout the week.
Prices were rather erratic with some sales higher and others lower. Considerable producer resistance to lower prices was noted as supplies at auction markets around the area were substantially reduced from a year ago. At some points marketings are virtually cut in half.
Compared one week earlier feeder steers sold 50 cents to $1 lower, except at South Carolina where they were 50 cents to $1 higher. Heifers sold steady
