MOTTLEY, Warrenton and Culpeper County businessman, has announced as a Democratic candidate for the House of Representatives from the Seventh House District. If no other Democrat announces before the April 12 deadline, he will automatically oppose incumbent Republican Congressman Kenneth Robinson of Winchester.
Mottley, who lives in the edge of Culpeper County, is president of C. C. Mottley and Associates, Inc., “a real estate syndicating firm and a consulting company for recreational property.”
Mottley has worked for Democratic candidates in many parts of Virginia. He assisted in the campaign of Robert Horan for the 8th District House seat in 1972, and also that year was on the campaign staff of Democratic Senator William Spong, who was defeated by William Scott.
He is a member of the Virginia Committee to Preserve Clean Government, is treasurer of the Warrenton Kiwanis Club and is a member of the Culpeper County Democratic Committee. He is a member of the Broad Run Baptist Church.
