RAPPAHANNOCK Library was the scene April 5 of an evening seminar for high school age contestants of the Library’s 1974 Book Review contest.
Certificates of merit were presented. This party marked the culmination of nine weeks of work by the contestants, as each contender read and reviewed three books of his or her choice at three-week intervals.
Winners of the 8th-9th grades contest were Rachel Grimsley, first prize; Jimmy Swindler, second place; Chris Kuhn, third place, all of Rappahannock County High; Charles Swaim, first honorable mention; Howard Swaim, second honorable mention, both of Randolph Macon Academy, and Jeanna Sobel, Nethers Community School, third honorable mention; Joyce R. Deal, Rappahannock High School ool, certificate of merit.
ALL ENTRIES in the 10th-llth-12th grades contest were from Rappahannock County High School. They were Martin Perdue, first; Paula St. Clair, second; Beth Parker, third; Tim Metzinger, first honorable mention; Sue Titchnell, second honorable mention; Raye Rector, third honorable mention; Robert Titchnell, fourth honorable mention.
