Miss Hugnes

Miss Mary Hughes, 87, of Richmond died April 2, 1974 in Plyler’s Nursing Home, Richmond. She was a native of Rappahannock, the daughter of the late John S. and Capitola Luttrell Hughes of Laurel Hill Farm.

She was a graduate of the Richmond Female Institute-Women’s College in Richmond, and was a member of the First Baptist Church since her move to that city in 1920.

Surviving are two brothers, Dr. John M. Hughes of Richmond and W. S. Hughes of Thurmont, Md.

A graveside service, conducted by the Rev. Preston Taylor, was held at 2 p.m. Friday in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond.
