Mrs. Day said the Land Use Committee wanted to see the minimun-lot size in an agricultural zone increased and the minimum acreage in a conservation zone “commensurately decreased.”
In this way, she said, the total number of tracts would not be increased, but would be more balanced, “and would help preserve disappering farmland.”
The Land Use Committee also recommended that the Planning Commission consider adopting a comprehensive plan and that future small lot subdivisions should be planned to take place within a half mile of existing population centers, “to facilitate services and help preserve visual unity and esthetic qualities.”
