CLASSROOM space and a grater teaching staff for the local high school over the next five years, and instituting kindergarten in the school system, were two of the problems which face the Rappahannock County School Boad These items were on the agenda of the April 9 meeting of the Board.
Speaking about the establishment of the kindergarten at a cost of $200,000 for the four additional rooms which will be needed to meet the approval of the State Board of Education Standards of Quality Mrs. R. A. Baines implored to Board not to lose sight of other needs in the system.
She was particularly interested in the junior high age students who are in a sense becoming “stepchildren”—not old enough to fit into high school groups, but too old for elementary groups.
