PAINT gypsters (sometimes called gypsies because they are usually on the move) are like many plant pests—they come out in the springtime to plague everyone—warns the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Commerce (VDAC).
The most common ruse of the gypster painter is to drive by with a spray paint rig, say he is working in that particular neighborhood, and offer to paint the homeowner’s roof, house, or other building at a much lower cost than a legitimate paint contractor would normally have to charge.
