Human relations, under the auspices of the American Humanics Foundation. Tichenell was a member of the National Honor Society at Rappahannock, and has received several scholarship and leadership awards from that school, including the Accounting A - ward, English Award, Math Award and Social Studies Award. He was also a member of the varsity basketball and track teams. A member of the Boy Scouts of America, Order of the Arrow, Tichenell attended the 1973 Order of the Arrow National Conference.
