MISS GENEVA ANN WILLIAMS became the bride of Jerry Lee Spiker on Saturday, August 24, in the Village Church of God, Front Royal. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Williams of Front Royal, formerly of Huntly. The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Spiker of Middletown.
The Rev. Cecil A. Smead performed the ceremony. The altar held a floral arrangement of pink gladioli and white pompons. Barry Pomeroy of Harrisonburg was organist and accompanied his wife as soloist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride work a gown of white organza over taffeta featuring an Empire waist, high nickline and bishop sleeves. The bodice had a pointed bib from the shoulders trimmed with rachelle lace and edged with a raffle. Rachelle lace accented the hemline of the skirt and the detatchable train was attached with a satin bow. Her full length veil of illusion encircled with watching lace fell from a band of lace. She carried a cascade of miniature white ‘ carnations, daisies and baby’s breath and ivy.
Miss Janie Williams was her sister’s maid ofhonor. Her gown was of pink organza over taffeta made with a square yoke edged with ruffles and cap sleeves. She wore a double bow headpiece and carried a nosegay of miniature pink carnations, white daisies and baby’s breath.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Evelyn Joan Thomas of Leesburg, and Miss Joyce Ann Mills of Front Royal, sister and cousin of the bride, respectively. They wore long pink dresses and flowers like the honor attendant.
