JACK DeBERGH appeared before the Planners to ask that the maps designating flood plain be revised. “This flood plain struck me last year, when I found out that much of my farm is in the flood plain.” DeBergh noted that the standard for designating the flood plain was the type of soil in an area. “This was dictated by the Stony alluvial soil,” DeBergh said, referring to his own land. “But stream beds change, though the deposit of soil remains.”
