STATE Police arrests for speeding during 1974 numbered 159,642, or an increase of 58,047 over the 101,595 of 1973, saiys Colonel H.VV. Burgess, Superintendent of State Police.

Heavy increases of from 6,602 in November, 1973, to 19,315 in November, 1974, and from 6,533 to 14,820 for the two Decembers were obtained. Colonel Burgess said December’s figure would no doubt have been higher had it not been for heavy snows in the southwest portion of the State which thinned traffic and lowered speeds.
