Tri-County Bicentennial Chairmen from Madison, Rappahannock, and Culpeper Counties who formed a panel at a recent meeting of the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, included the Murat Williams, left; Mrs. George Davis, next to Murat, and Capt. John S. Kearns, USN Ret., rjght. With them is Mrs. J.H. White, chapter Bicentennial Chairman, who served as moderator for the program. All three speakers stressed their hopes for a “joyous and festive celebration of the Nation’s 200th birthday with total community involvement.” Plans outlined include ceremonies, pageants, parades, plays, concerts and other events. Recording of local history, photographing and listing of old homes and historic sites, house tours, flower shows, special displays and exhibits, sales of commemorative^ plates, maps, flags, and similar souvenir items are among other proV jects to be undertaken during the coming months in the three-county area.
