the Department's mobile radars which number now in excess of 100. These are installed in police cruisers and can produce a reading while the car is in motion up to nearly half a mile. They are particularly useful, he said, in giving the speed of a vehicle meeting a police cruiser. The old type radar could only be used from a stationary position which could be identified after some activity there.
“Of course the 55 mile per hour speed limit has made violators more prevalent on our highways and has done its part in boosting the total of speeding arrests," he concluded. L
