finance at Amsterdam. He became a U.S. citizen in 1949 and in 1951 joined the State Department as a project director for the International Cooperation Administration, a forerunner of the Agency for International Development.
Mr. Burgers spent three years in New Dehli as an investment advisor then was named a reserve officer class-3 in the Foreign Service. He went with AID in 1965 and was stationed in Vienna for five years, returning to OPIC in 1972.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sheilah Campbell Burgers; a daughter, Wendy Zoe and a son Kim Ariaan.
A memorial service was held at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Saturday.□
Lillard
A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Ruth Alva Lillard of Rapidan was held Tuesday at Crooked Run Cemetery in Rapidan, conducted by the Rev. William Judkins and the Rev. Floyd Binns.
Mrs. Lillard died May 24, 1975, in Culpeper Memorial Hospital. She was 68, a native of Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late Hugh C. and Alva Hoke Murray, and a member of the Orange Church of the Nazarine. Surviving Mrs. Lillard are her husband, Henry B. Lillard of Rapidan; two daughters, Mrs. Paul A. Poling of Amissville and Mrs. William Crossman of Culpeper; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Rucker of Arlington and Mrs. Emmett Hunt of Orange; two brothers, Arthur L. Murray of Ealls Church and John H.
