Luke read the section of the county ordinance that states “it is the mutual responsibility of the subdivider and the county to improve the land use.” Luke said he didn’t think this request would be “consistent with the pattern of land use we want in this area,” and made a motion to deny both the requests for rezoning and an exception to the subdivision ordinance. The planners approved his motion unanimously.
Chairman Herbert Barksdale asked Luke to “get with the commonwealth’s attorney and tie in the wording of the motion with the ordinance. ”□
HOMECOMING
Gid Brown Bible Church will have Homecoming Services Sunday, June 1, beginning at 10 a.m. There will be four speakers—Carl Black of the Rescue Mission at Hagerstown, Md., Pastor Ed Hawkins of Bible Baptist Church, Culpeper, Pastor Nelson Petit of New Market and Pastor John Burke of Gid Brown. Lunch will be on the grounds. □
