VARSITY cheerleaders under the direction of Miss Sharon Clark were Mary Hudson, Donna Cannon, Frances Timbers, Connie Del Grosso, Millie North, Raye Rector and Cindy Cumins. They received pins.
Lettering in Varsity Baseball were Mike Tupper, Dale Frye, Cecil Smoot, James Jordan, Mike Smoot, Aubrey Frye, Steve Payne, Wayne Woodward, Larry Brcwn, Barry Adkins and Tommy Banks. Other squad men were Robert Payne, Kevin Adkins, Mike Jenkins, Roger Jenkins, Danny Raiford, Richie Burke, Doug Cumins, Mike Raney.
Mike Smoot took the Most Valuable Player award while Barry Adkins was the Most Improved in baseball. Mike Smoot pitched a no hitter game on April 22 and the following day another no hitter was taken with a combination of MiLe~ ilupper and Allen Smoot on the mound. This was a first ever in Skyline District—two no hitters, back to back.
Named to the All District team were Aubrey Frye, Mike Tupper and Mike Smoot.
