Division of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Yern L. Hill reminds Virginia passenger car owners with May decals on their license plates to renew registrations and buy new 1976 decals.
“May is our heaviest month, since over 300,000 car owners have selected it for license renewal. For this reason, we ask all of our patrons to act early so as to avoid possible crowded conditions in DMY offices as the May 31 deadline approaches.”
Notices have been mailed to all May decal holders. However, even if a notice is not received, car owners can renew decals immediately by presenting their current registration card at any DMY office or vehicle license agency.
Hill further suggested that motorists check the decals on their license plates if not certain of the renewal month. Tardy owners appear daily at DMY offices to buy decals after being ticketed for delinquency. Li
