RAPPAHANNOCK’S planners don’t all agree whether the county should accept unsought federal handouts. At least they didn’t at their meeting last Wednesday night, May 21.
Art Warren, executive director of Planning District Nine, told the Planners that he’d received word “from HUD, our great saviour in Washington.”
“Oh no, we’re always afraid of them,” chairman Herbert Barksdale said.
Warren said that HUD can make available to Rappahannock “funding for planning.” The money could be used in drafting a master plan, Warren said, noting that Rappahannock has begun work on that project.
