THROUGH the joint efforts of Inland Fisheries and the Nature Conservancy, 3,800 acres of Fauquier land near Sumerduck on the Rappahannock River have been saved from future development. The two tracts, which will be sold for $3.5 million, include about five and a half miles of riverfront on the portion of the Rappahannock River that is being studied by the Commission of Outdoor Recreation for possible “scenic river” designation.
