THE CULPEPER County Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation of the murder of a nine-year-old Amissville youth found dead early Friday morning in a heavily wooded area about a quarter of a mile from his home.

Jennings Stewart Webb, Jr. had been missing all Thursday afternoon after last being seen around 1 p.m. Amissville fire and rescue squadsmen were alerted and responded to a call at 5 p.m. to search for the youth. They joined members of the Virginia State Police who brought trained dogs and a helicopter to the search scene.

This group, with Culpeper Sheriffs Department personnel. Culpeper, Warrenton, Marshall and Brandy Station volunteers, all combed the area for an indication of the boy’s whereabouts.
