I don’t agree with Mr. Kilpatrick that the coverage of his recent “Colloquy” with Karl Hess was “okay.”
In attempting to explain the reason for the audience’s alleged preference for Kilpatrick’s views, the reporter who covered the event didn’t just imply, but stated outright that...“It was an audience which simply couldn’t shake the built-in responses of a lifetime of public school education, commercials, and institutional advertising-that is, to say, free enterprise propaganda.”
In other words, the reporter is saying that most of the members of the audience are poor, dumb victims, incapable of making critical judgments! I would like to know just how the reporter presumes to know so well the minds of the audience. Also, I should like to point out that anyone who rejects the arguments of an anarchist is not necessarily the victim of capitalist propaganda.
