CHANGES in the special Livestock Emergency Credit Program are now in effect in Virginia, according to M. L. Trew of the Farmers Home Administration (FmHA).
The program, originated under the Emergency Livestock Credit Act of 1974, will continue to be administered through county offices of FmHA, the U.S. Depart» ment of Agriculture rural credit agency. Under the program, FmHA guarantees loans made by banks and other commercial lenders to help farmers and ranchers continue in various lines of livestock production through a period of adverse economic conditions.
The bill (Public Law 94-35) signed June 16 by President Ford amended terms of the program established last year and extended its duration through Dec. 31,1976.
