RAPPAHANNOCK’S planning commission members, after previously visiting both sites, voted Thursday night, April 2, to recommend approval of another.
The commissioners were agreed that Oscar Lindgren’s subdivision in Hampton District met all county requirements, including provisions of the new erosion and sedimentation control ordinance, but they did not favor a subdivision proposed by Wade H. Massie ffl, called “High Hill Farms.” The steep slope of the main access road was the major sticking point.
Both recommendations will now go to the Board of Supervisors for final action at their meeting May 6.
The Lindgren subdivision was considered first at Thursday night’s “recessed” meeting of the planning commission. Chairman Herbert Barksdale asked right off what recommendation the members favored, and a lengthy discussion followed.
