J. Floyd Clatterbuck is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James A. Clatterbuck and a native Rappahannockan. He is married to the former Gertrude Burke and they have two daughters, Virginia Jenkins and Linda Cooke and a foster daughter, Margaret Hitt.
Clatterbuck is a veteran of World War II, spending most of his duty tour in Africa, Italy and Sicily and he was the first Rappahannock man to be drafted. He was in the service four years.
MR. AND MRS. Clatterbuck live in Ole Hollow near Sperryville “by the trout stream”, and he says he will spend some of his retirement time fishing. “I didn’t do too well opening day of trout season. I hooked three fish and lost every one of them. My grandson did catch one,” he said.
Clatterbuck is an avid gardener and will have more time for that now. He said he didn’t think he would have much trouble keeping occupied. They plan to visit the sick and will have more time for service to the Lord, he said, and they are hoping to go to Florida and also visit in the Carolinas, where he was in military service.□
