If R.C.H.S. students seem a little more excited than usual about this year’s Easter Vacation it’s for a good reason; an especially long name-day vacation this year from Friday the 9th to Sunday the 18th. That’s even better than a 2 pound chocolate Easter Bunny!

Another R.C.H.S. Senior has received a college acceptance and that’s Beverly Brown who’s been accepted at Ferrum.

Well, this week brought with it an abundance of sports news; let’s begin with- the ladies. Our Girls Varsity Track team met last week with Central and Luray. The final scores were, Central 1st place with 85 1/2 points. Rappahannock, 2nd with 46 1/2 points and Luray third with 9 points. In the shotput, Eleanor Phillips placed first; Nina Metzinger, 5th, Discus, Nina Metzinger placed 3rd. In the Long Jump, Gamell Prudhum placed 2nd and Karen Welch placed 4th. In the High Jump Jamell Prudhum placed 1st and Ruby Dunn and Lisa Railford. tied for 4th. In the Hurdles, Connie DelGrosso placed 3rd, Lisa Raiford 4th. In 100 yard dash, Hamell Prudham placed 2nd and Marie Fletcher was 4th. In the 220, Connie DelGrossa placed 3rd. In the 440, Jamell Prudhum place 1st and set a new school record.
