Gaines
Mrs. Mary Emily Gaines, 77, of Boston, died April 5, 1976 at a Richmond Nursing Home. She was a native of Culpeper County, the daughter of the late Thomas and Nara Yowell Hitt and the widow of Claude Bredler Gaines. She was a long time member of the Slate Mill Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Hall of Olney, Md.; five sons, Arthur Gaines of Boston, Eugene Gaines of Fairfax Station, Claude M. Gaines of Madison, Thomas Gaines of Silver Spring, Md., and John R. Gaines of Gainesville; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Hawkins of Arlington; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be April 8 today at 2 p.m. at the Geest Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Harold Eaton. Burial will be at the Novum Baptist Church Cemetery □
